The AirGuard™ 527A3 is a high power, eight-port wireless access point that is appropriate for government, military, public safety or industrial use when extended range, FIPS Validated™ security and multiple devices must be supported. In addition to LAN management and WAN Ethernet ports, it includes six fast Ethernet ports which can be used to support laptops, IP cameras or any IP devices that need to be wired in via an RJ45 connector. The 527A3 is designed for use in protected or indoor environments and demanding applications where high power and a range of up to 32 miles is needed.

Highlights:

  • More power, extended range: The 400 mW 802.11a bridge has a typical two mile range when used with an 8 dBi omni-directional antenna. Ranges of up to 32 miles have been achieved with optional antennas.
  • FIPS Validated™: Operates only in the secure FIPS mode and is cased in a tamper-evident enclosure. Integrated eight-port switch also has encryption and authentication to protect wired connections.
  • Multiple ports: LAN management port can be used for configuration; WAN Ethernet port is used to supply power via PoE. Six fast Ethernet ports can support a variety of IP devices.
  • Encrypted Ethernet port: Features an encrypted Ethernet port to connect to DSL modems or other devices requiring layered encryption.
  • Dual radios: Operates in the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz bands, featuring 802.11b/g access point and 802.11a bridging at speeds of 11 to 54 Mbps. The 200 mW b/g access point offers extended WLAN for up to 255 users.
  • Mesh Networking: Creates a self configuring, self-healing mesh network of up to 40 nodes in 30 seconds. Detects rogue access points and reports them via email. Enables seamless and secure voice, video and data communications in a wireless environment.
  • Advanced security: Offers 802.11i and other advanced security features, such as 256-bit AES and DoD PKI. Configuration file transfers for easy mass FIPS configuration
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE): Saves time and reduces costs associated with powerline cabling.
