DoD/Government-Levies Requirements

3eTI products are designed to meet the most rigorous specifications for product design and most stringent security requirements established by the Department of Defense (DoD).

Common Criteria

Common Criteria (CC) is an international standard (ISO / IEC 15408) for computer security. It describes a framework in which computer system users can specify their security requirements; vendors can then implement and make claims about the security attributes of their products, and testing laboratories can evaluate the products to determine if they actually meet the claims. In other words, Common Criteria provides assurance that the process of specification, implementation and evaluation of a computer security product has been conducted in a rigorous and standard manner.

In November 2006, 3eTI became the first wireless supplier to have a wireless LAN access point and client software receive National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Evaluation Assurance Level 2 Common Criteria Validation. The 3eTI AirGuard 3e-010F-C-2 and 3e-010F-A-2 secure client software and 3e-525A-3 wireless access point are covered by NIAP reports CCEVS-VR-06-0044 and CCEVS-VR-06-0045, respectively.

Key Directives

3eTI also follows DoD directives to ensure government users compliance in area of information assurance such as:

  • DoD Directive 8500.1
  • DoD Instruction 8500.2
  • DoD Instruction 8100.3 (Find out how 3eTI stacks up.)
  • NSTISSP No. 11
  • WLAN Technical Guidance

Derived Requirements

Government, industry and public policy, as well as the application of the best and most current technologies, are also crucial drivers for products sold to the government. 3eTI also meets guidelines for:

  • Wi-Fi, FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria
  • DoD PKI & IPv6 support
  • Secure VoIP
  • Automatic best channel selection
  • Specialized power control modes, auto TX levels
  • Enable / disable broadcast SSID
  • Wireless management and load balancing
  • Rogue access point detection
  • Intrusion detection and localization – an emerging technology
