Why won’t the 3e-030 Security Software work after having installed the Windows 2000 Certificate Services?
Answer:
The IIS must be installed before the Windows 2000 Certificate Services. Remove the Certificate Services and then re-install.
If you have previously used authentication services, check the Add/Remove Windows Components window to see if the Internet Authentication Server and the Routing and Remote Access functions are installed. If they are installed, uninstall them and then re-install the Certificate Services. This will prevent conflicts from prior installations.

1. Load the 3e-010F driver
2. Open the Control Panel.

Answer: Windows XP comes with a set of PCMCIA drivers already installed. This can cause a conflict if the card you are using (CC&C or Senao) has the same Plug and Play ID as an already installed driver. For example, the Red Inalambrica Local 802.11b WLAN PC Card Plug and Play ID matches with that of the CC&C and Senao cards.
To correct this problem follow these steps:
1. Select Control Panel --> Performance & Maintenance --> System
2. Select the Hardware tab.
3. Select Device Manager.
4. Select Network Adapters.
5. Select the conflicting adapter (ex: Red Inalambrica Local 802.11b WLAN PC Card)
6. Right-click and select Properties for the card.
7. Select the Drivers tab.
8. Select Update Driver.
9. Select “Install from a list or a specific location”
10. Select “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.”
11. Select the 3e-010F Crypto Client PC Card.

Solution: When using win 2003 server, the default key length for a certificate is the incorrect value. This must be changed to 1024 instead of the default 512. Win2000 Server does not have this issue. Keys must be a length of 1024
Solution: CRL has expired and new CRL need to be generated or the system time is incorrect. Check system time first before creating new CRL.
Solution: Ensure the system time is correct, otherwise the certificates and CRLs with incur expiration and invalid issues during retrieve and install. If this does not work, recreate the CA.
Solution: There is an option to export the CA in Win2003 and then restore the CA in Win2000 server. Otherwise a complete rebuild of the OS is needed along with recreating all of the certificates.
